About Copper Edge
We take our name from the spectacular natural sandstone escarpment close to our place, known as "The Edge". Its views across the Cheshire plain have been enjoyed by people for at least 12,000 years. Copper mining began in the Bronze Age, with the Romans exploiting lead within "The Edge", followed by Cobalt during the Napoleonic Wars. Local wealth has long attracted people, with Welsh Row our road named after the Welsh Miners who came.
The ancient tunnels deep below Alderley Edge National Trust park, have inspired tales such as those written by Alan Garner including “The Weirdstone of Brisingamen: A Tale of Alderley” the story of a king and his army of 100 knights and 100 milk white horses that sleep under the Edge guarded by a wizard.
Our place, part of a traditional farmstead built during the English Civil War, has witnessed huge change, including the building of the railway in 1842 and the construction of ‘Villas’ for Manchester Mill Owners, which started the transformation of Alderley Edge into the luxury enclave for football players and business owners it is today.
We hope you will love the area as much as we do.

Copper Cottage is the most wonderful Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Louise and James are incredible hosts — warm, thoughtful, and welcoming from the start. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, full of charm and comfort, and the garden is just stunning. X x x
Such a lovely place with a beautiful garden surrounded by greenery! I stayed for 10 days and this was one of the best places I've stayed at..I wold highly recommend, both the place and having such a wonderful host! I am planning on returning again soon...to get some focused work done, as it's the perfect setting to do that.
A fantastic stay. Beautiful surroundings, lots of great walks nearby. Spotlessly clean, great stay for a dog as the garden area was enclosed....Lovely and relaxing, quiet location, great for a weekend getaway. Would definitely recommend.
10/10. Amazing accommodation and amazing host! Fabulous location, peaceful but within a short reach of lots of walks, shops, restaurants, etc. The cottage was amazing - spotlessly clean, high quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. Very comfortable bed. Lots of nice touches and good quality products provided.
I had a wonderful stay! The property is in a lovely location—peaceful and scenic, yet conveniently close to nearby wedding venues and charming local towns. It made getting around so easy. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful before and throughout my stay, which made everything smooth and stress-free.
